Citrus Pre Wash, as the name suggests, is designed for use before the contact wash stage.
This powerful car pre wash cleaner safely removes up to 90% of surface dirt and grime in a single contactless step dramatically reducing the risk of scratching and making the wash stage safer and more effective.
How To Use Citrus Pre Wash
- Before cleaning ensure the vehicle is cool to the touch
- dilute Concentrated Citrus Pre Wash up to 1:9 depending on the level of dirt and contamination present on the vehicle.
- Spray onto the vehicle and allow to dwell, do not allow the product to dry.
- Completely rinse off ensuring no residue is left behind.
Dilution Ratios
1 part product to 9 water for regular maintenance washing. Lower dilutions can be used for heavier dirt.

What is Citrus Pre Wash?
Citrus Pre-Wash is a powerful pre-cleaner designed to be used before the contact wash stage.
Its primary role is to safely break down and remove the bulk of dirt, grime, and road film from the vehicle’s surface especially on lower panels, bumpers, and wheel arches.
By tackling heavy contamination early, it reduces the amount of dirt left on the paint, significantly minimising the risk of scratches and swirl marks during the contact wash.
Formulated with effective citrus-based cleaning agents, it’s safe on all exterior surfaces making it an essential step for a safer, more thorough clean.
Is Citrus Pre Wash safe on ceramic coated cars?
Citrus Pre-Wash is a non caustic formula with a pH of around 9 when diluted and can safely be used on ceramic coatings when diluted in use.
Pair citrus pre wash with these pH neutral products such as our Extreme Snow Foam and Tropical Shampoo, which provide effective cleaning while preserving your ceramic protection.
Should I use Citrus Pre Wash or Snowfoam?
When detailing your car Citrus Pre-Wash is ideal for tackling the dirtiest areas of your vehicle, such as the lower sections. For light to medium soiling, Extreme Snowfoam may be a better choice.
Alternatively, you can apply Citrus Pre-Wash to the lower, dirtier parts of your vehicle and then layer Extreme Snowfoam over the entire surface.
This approach extends the dwell time and offers a more economical car cleaning routine by targeting the product where it’s needed most.
How often should I use a Citrus Pre Wash?
Citrus Pre-Wash can be used regularly, even on a weekly basis if necessary. For optimal results, it is essential to dilute the pre-wash according to the level of soiling on your vehicle.
Adjusting the dilution ensures effective cleaning and allows for a more economical clean.
Is it safe to pre wash a hot vehicle?
Never apply chemicals, especially strong ones like Citrus Pre-Wash, to hot surfaces when cleaning your car. Doing so you run the extreme risk of doing irreversible damage to your vehicle’s paintwork.
For optimal results, always ensure your vehicle is cool to the touch and apply the product in a shaded area. This helps prevent any potential damage and ensures effective application.
How long should I leave Citrus Pre Wash to dwell?
In cooler conditions, it’s perfectly fine to allow pre-washes to dwell for 3-5 minutes. However, keep a close eye on the vehicle to ensure the product doesn’t begin to dry.
If you notice any drying, rinse the pre-wash off your car immediately to prevent potential damage.

Citrus Pre wash makes for pretty much effortless cleaning being so simple to apply and it literally does the majority of the work for you!
